All About Sculpture!

The first week of this year's Asheville Art Museum Summer Art Camp was all about sculpture with our Kindergarten through 2nd graders! In Dorothy Hanbright's class "Buildin' Art", the student's began their journey into sculpture by creating a relief sculpture using a paper shaping technique along with glue and paint. The effect was a woven, colorful, relief sculpture.

Excited to show off their three dimensional bird and fish mobiles during art critique.

The afternoon class was "Mixed Up and Messy", taught by Nora Mosrie. The students worked on making some incredibly expressive, silly characters that were not only three dimensional but very much full of the life and character each student brought to the class!
